Orange County SC Colorado Springs Sport reviews
Unlike anything I've ever seen...
1. This was no typical Madonna gig, from the warm-up act of her band performing a mixture of four Latin tracks and four Madonna tracks (Secret, Don't Tell Me, Like a Virgin, Who's that Girl) for 30mins before the show, to the phenomenon of the show itself, complete with a staggering set and an array of lighting features. An exceptional evening.
2. Her three youngest kids took to the stage too, especially the twins, whilst Lourdes featuring on the video for Frozen, doing a contemporary dance as her mother sang vocals. Loved every second of the 2.5+ hour show, getting out at 135am. She was in the audience three times, spoke to a number of people, told jokes, discussed her career and the album, as well as talking openly about politics and social issues, this was a brilliant artistic piece.
3. The anecdotes and jokes were different, in fact, her interactions with the crowds were different each night. Last night I saw Madonna's Madame X. I gave a mini-review for Night 1 but after getting back 130am and up at 430, I didn't have time to post.
4. She performed Papa Don't Preach, La Isla Bonita, Like a Prayer, Express Yourself, Vogue, Rescue Me, Frozen, American Life and 2/3 of the Madame X album. It was absolutely amazing and worth every penny. Three costume changes, there was perhaps 10mins total when she was off-stage over the 2.5 hours! Mum was thrilled too and thoroughly loved the show. Yay. She sang live and seemed to relish in performing, as well as joking with the crowd and talking to a few lucky fans.
5. Overall, the band, the dancers, everything was perfect and worth the wait. Loved that she's tried something different. It works.
